Mount edgcombe is 25 minutes away with lovely gardens and views across to Plymouth. There is a segway activity you can book through the grounds. Yiy can incorporate a trip to Plymouth by catching the Cremyll passenger ferry to Plymouth nearby and walk up to the Royal William Yard where you find a number of restaurants in the old naval buildings.

Mount Edgcumbe is open to the public all year, whatever the weather. Explore the coastline, discover the trails, segway around the grounds and take some time out browsing in the shopping village or refresh in one of the café or restaurant.

1 hour away - Recommended – gardens, house, Plymouth and coastal views, good walks, nice pub for lunch (Top Tip – Fireworks Festival in August can viewed from here; Top Tip – Cremyll ferry runs from here into Barbican area of Plymouth)

Absolutely LOVE this place for a lunch time spot !! And an amazing walk out the back of the Fort behind the tennis courts and follow the path up into the parkland and down into the stables. :0)

You can get a 10 minute Ferry from Royal William Yard to Cornwall and Mount Edgcombe where you will find a country park with its Regency manor house, Orangery, and beautiful gardens, there is also a café and pub, well worth a look.
