A must visit and thought provoking memorial. Also try and see the small resistance museum by the Tourist Office in the Town.

The Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure Resistance Memorial in Charente , was built at the end of the Second World War in memory of the 1,465 martyrs of the Resistance and fallen fighters from Charente and Charente-Maritime of honor. It is both a Resistance memorial and a national necropolis .

This memorial is worth a visit. It commemorates those who fought the wars in the resistance. The memorial figures are representative of so much. It is worth taking the time to read and identify the different figures.

Chasseneuil, haut lieu de la résistance pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale. Monument et cimetière militaire à visiter avec une vue superbe sur le village.
