Great place for a nature walk, while the observation tower lets you oversee the park. 97 acres of protected scrubby flatwood land will give you 30m - 1h to tour and FREE PARKING.

Take a step back in history: At one time, southeast Florida's coastline was a patchwork of upland and wetland habitats spanning the western side of the Atlantic Coastal Ridge. When you visit this 98-acre remnant of those habitats, be on the lookout for the resident gopher tortoises in the scrub and scrubby flatwoods, or follow the Eastern Pondhawk hiking trail to spot a wading bird foraging in the restored wetland. Features: Cottonweed Trail (Paved) 0.25 miles Eastern Pondhawk Trail (Sandy) 1.5 miles Covered observation tower with timeline display of historical events Restored wetland (2 acres)
