Great day out to see more of the Far North with the possibility of seeing a cassowary in the wild. Along the way when driving from cairns you can stop a check out a number of waterfalls and have a swim. But be mindful of some of the dangers around swimming or sliding in the waterfalls. Read all signs.

For those that like to walk around and take in the view! Beautiful old architecture dating back to 1940's. Stunning trees grown symmetrically, create a tunnel like feature and the beautiful rainforest all around encases you in it's canopy. Watch the fish and eels in a feeding frenzy at the pond by the waterfall. Make sure you keep some of your food for the turtles at a spot further along the river.

#1 Must-Do Tourist Site in Queensland (if they do say so themselves!). Quirky but lovely rainforest park. Try dinner at the Mena Creek Hotel followed by the Night Tour!
