This bright and airy restaurant inside the National Gallery of Scotland (at the Mound, on Princes Street) looks out onto Princes Street Gardens. Seasonal, sustainable & great quality ingredients, sourced from small local suppliers. Soup, sandwiches, tea, coffee, cakes. Excellent place for tea and scones, an Edinburgh tradition! The main New Town branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland, if you need to do any banking, it is worth a visit. I was built by Sir Lawrence Dundas, who stands on the pillar in St Andrews Square. It was originally built as a " party pad " to entertain guests on a lavish scale.

Fine authentic Scottish meals during the day, but not the evening. It is in basement of the Scottish National Gallery, overlooking Princes Street Gardens.
