Cantacuzino Castle is located on the site of an ancient hunting house that had endured since sec. XVIII and served as stopover of Cantacuzino family on it’s way to Brasov. The Cantacuzino or Cantacuzène family is a Romanian aristocratic family that gave several Princes of Wallachia and Moldavia. They also contribut to the first complete translation of the Bible into the Romanian language, published in Bucharest in 1688.

The castel is magnificent, teh view is unique, there are art exibitions and opera concerts in the hall where the fanous Romanian musician George Enescu played some decades ago.

Beautiful old castle. Sometimes they organise classical concerts and art exhibitions. Bolshoi Theatre special guests, Pablo Picasso or Salvador Dali exhibitions, to name some of the recent events.
