This is my recommendation for local Puerto Rican food that's in a cute environment and with pretty good service, most days! lol It's small so take away can also be a great option!

This place is like going to your Puerto Rican aunt's home to eat authentic local food. Last time I went they were cooking pots of rice every hour or so, so you get a fresh portion instead of re-heated rice. Nice touch!

In Old San Juan . Ordered the shrimp with rice about $11 the mixed grapefruit with rum was delicious and fresh. Fried chicken here is also a classic.
