The Mon Repos Palace was built in 1830 for the English Minister Adams and it belonged for long time to the Greek Royal Family. The Duke of Edinburgh and husband to the Queen of England Elisabeth II was born in Mon-Repos and the Royal family had sole possession of Mon-Repos until 1967. Today it hosts the museum of Paleopolis ruins one can still admire the the Era’s temple, the Venetian fountain and what remained today of the Doric Kardaki temple. This temple was built in honor of the God Apollo at the end of VI century b.C. using local limestone coming from the quarry of Varipatadon. Along the road, just outside from the Paleopoli, is possible to see other ruins such as the Christian basilica of Kerkyra, some pavement sections of the ancient agorà (market), the Roman bathes and the boatyards of the port of Alkinoos.

The best park in Corfu.There is a beautiful palace inside the park that was the Summer residence for former royalty in Corfu. At the end of the park, is the kardaki beach , with a fantastic view .
