This historic building is NZ's last Victorian theatre, officially opened in 1900. Architecturally interesting. Has excellent acoustics, and a very active opera house management.

Make sure you don't miss an event hosted at NZ's last Victorian theatre, over 115 years young and restored beautifully. Great venue for an event.

Wanganui Opera week is a series of public events where students of the New Zealand Opera School are based at Wanganui Collegiate School during 2 weeks in early January. There are various performances culminating in a Gala. The Opera House also hold many visiting acts and shows from around NZ and the world.
