Saved and closed off by the Deans family in the 1800s, this little piece of native sanctuary will help you imagine Christchurch before colonisation. Riccarton House is a beautiful Historic Home that has been converted in to a cafe/restaurant, and occasionally has markets on Sunday mornings. There is a beautiful native bush area which you can walk through and feel far away from the city :)

Gifted to the people of Christchurch, Riccarton Bush is a 10 minute stroll through a tranquil grove of tall kahikatea trees at the heart of this ancient native forest.
