Florida is one of the most beautiful states in the U.S., and you can see its majesty for yourself when you visit the Bird Island Park. It’s a peaceful nature reserve right on the water, so you can treat it like a natural oasis away from the urban madness of Jacksonville. It’s also equipped with fun extras like a walkable hedge maze, so it’ll be something different to do while you’re in town. It has educational value as well. The plants have been given markers that identify their species, so you can learn about Florida’s native flowers and shrubs as you explore. The birds that flock to the trees will be pointed out by helpful tour guides. One thing to note about Bird Island Park is that it’s a few miles outside of Jacksonville, so you’ll need to leave the city limits to reach it. However, it’s worth the extra gas.
