A port town on the West Bank of the Lymington River on the Solent, in the New Forest. Famous for its sailing history. There are two large marinas with fishing boats and yaughts. Lymington has a car ferry service to the Isle of Wight.
Foodies will be in their element with a great choice of eating establishments both on the doorstep and throughout the local area. Enjoy a seafood supper at Stanwells Hotel or Egans which was once the old police station as well as the Yacht Haven, Lanes, The Mayflower, the Ferryman, the Monkeyhouse…
Lovely Georgian high street and a great quay for crabbing. Also closest ferry crossing for the Isle of Wight. Delicious fish and chips too.
Both nearby towns of Lymington and Lyndhurst offer a wide variety of places to eat (Italian, Chinese, Thai, Fish & Chips). Many good pubs and shops too - ask for recommendations.
