Located in Astoria, this former jail has now become the Oregon Film Museum, dedicated to movies made in the state of Oregon. You’ll find costumes and memorabilia from The Goonies, Kindergarten Cop, Free Willy, Twilight, Sometimes a Great Notion, and National Lampoon’s Animal House.

Did you know that more than 300 major moves have been filmed in the State of Oregon! To name a few, “Are we there yet“, “The Goonies“, “Free Willy“, “Into the Wild“, “Wild“, and so many more! This museum invites visitors to learn about the production behind making movies by being the star in their own film. The opening scene of The Goonies was shot right here! Now the Oregon Film Museum, it’s a must-see for families and film buffs, alike. Here you can learn about every movie filmed in the area and get tips on other filming locations in town, like the school from Kindergarten Cop!
