The Little Gem Saloon is an excellent place to catch live music before an event in the Superdome or Smoothie King Center. It features a mural of jazz corinetist Buddy Bolden. Bolden is credited with the creation of ragtime jazz, in the Eagle saloon, just down the street.

Very beautiful music venue and restaurant rumored to be the exact location where jazz was born, though I suspect if you asked 12 people in Nola you'd get 12 different answers on that.
