‘The Salvos’ is Australia’s nickname for the Salvation Army, and this charity store in the suburb of Saint Peters offers one of Sydney’s biggest and best op-shop selections—all priced by an army of volunteers at ridiculously low prices. You just never know when a random cup you turn over will have a maker’s mark. I can lose hours here. There are always loads of cheap books on offer at charity shops, which are perfect for creating vignettes with around the home. Look for leather-bound classics which can be styled in stacks, or buy a random bunch and colour-code them on your book shelves.
