A superb gourmet restaurant in Pals. Don’t be fooled by the fact that it is on the rather plain main road into the town, rather than in the old centre. The meals here are among the best we have had on the Costa Brava. Run by a very sweet and soft-spoken husband and wife team who are very proud of their food. Oh, the food.

In a very ordinary location (main road through Pals) this is a restaurant for your birthday or wedding anniversary (not really with the kids). A very contemporary 'gastro' restaurant offering fine food with subtle flavours and unusual dishes. The taster menu is probably best for a first visit to find out what you like. More expensive than the usual tourist restaurants but still good value for the quality on offer (about on par with a high class restaurant in the UK). www.vicusrestaurant.com
