This is the place to try pulque - a mexican alocholic drink made by fementing sap from the maguey plant. Often have DJs and live acts across the two floors.

Yes, of course there are more authentic pulquerias in town, but none with four floors, live music, and author events in the early evening. Pulqueria Los Insurgentes is the perfect spot to try CDMX's famous fermented maguey drink (I recommend the flavored varieties for your first sips -- they have a rotating menu that includes flavors like peach/durazno, celery/apio, nut/nuez) that has played such a large role in the city's history.

Taste pulque if you want to, they sell beer and cocktails as well. Shabby, cultural atmosphere. You might pop into a book presentation here.
