Stoltzekleiven is one of Bergen's most popular trails, a relatively short but intensive hike that offers great views of the city's adjacent fjords. The path contains 908 stone steps that lead you up to Sandviksvjellet, 308 meters above sea level. Reaching the peak takes approximately 35 minutes. This hike can be combined with the "Fløyen" hike. If you are feeling sporty, you can follow the chain of mountains, reach the Fløyen peak, and from there walk down back into the city center.

Up for a hike that gives you a bit of a pulse? A walk up Stoltzekleiven tests your endurance quite a bit, but is worth it for its beautiful view. Walk up the stairs (yes, these are stairs) but don't walk down them. Follow signs to Fløyen, so you can walk down comfortably.

This is a very steep uphill walk. You walk uphill on a ladder made of stone. You will definetely have some sore muscles after this tour, but it is so worth it! Just remember to make room for people to pass you on your way up, many people are training regularly here and are measuring the time they spend from the bottom to the top. 30 minutes for untrained, and down to 15 minutes for well trained.
