An old typical Bohuslän county fishing village. Mollösund has a history going back to the 16th century. During periods in history when there was great amounts of herring the village was rich, a bit like “Klondike”, but today the main economy is driven by tourism. Quite busy and lots of tourists and boats in the summer, but very silent and quite other parts of the year. The level of commercial activity such as restaurants and other service vary greatly over the year. There are many nice places on Orust island, that by the way is Sweden’s third largest island and of the same size as Barbados.

Mollösund är ett charmigt och genuint fiskeläge, känt för beredning av lutfisk. Räkna med en halvtimmes bilresa från malöfärjan. Här finns flera fina matställen och ett livligt båtliv i gästhamnen under sommaren. Här kan man sitta på en bänk på kajen och beskåda folknöjet "konsten att angöra en brygga".
