Palazzo Butera is one of the most fascinating and historically rich mansions in all of Sicily, a veritable palace that stands in the heart of the ancient Kalsa district. Of particular interest is its overlooking the Foro Italico, with the so-called Passeggiata delle Cattive, from which the entire Gulf of Palermo is dominated. Il Palazzo Butera è un complesso monumentale di Palermo situato all'interno del quartiere storico della Kalsa. Di notevole interesse è il suo affaccio sul Foro Italico, con le cosiddetta Passeggiata delle Cattive, da cui si domina per intero il Golfo di Palermo. Il palazzo è ben visibile dal porto grazie all'accentuata bicromia dei prospetti che ne evidenzia in lontananza il profilo. Insieme con la prospiciente Porta Felice costituisce la quinta scenica di ingresso alla città di Palermo.

Da poco ristrutturato, Palazzo Butera si affaccia sul mare del Foro Italico. Tantissimi ospiti illustri vi hanno soggiornato, tra cui Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
