'Buvette' are amazing out door bars in Basel that are on the left side of the river Rhine. The bars open in summer and are a common place for locals to meet up on a sunny day.

The last place where swimmers have to get out of the Rhein - this is also where you find a shower to wash off. Coffee, drinks and some food can be bought in the Buvette there (one of many along the Rhein). It is worth mentioning especially because that's where you'll find a perfectly working, wonderful public grill. Bring something along or buy a sausage at the Buvette - either way, it's a wonderful place to be.

If you swim in the river in summer, get out here and drink something cool. Also if you don’t swim. But then go swimming after. They sell water proof bags too, if you want to dip in the river.
