Sushisei is one of the best moderately priced sushi restaurants in Kyoto. They’re comfortable with foreigners and the downtown location is super convenient.

Sushi restaurant. It's not expensive sushi. Great place to chill and have delicious sushi! Peaceful and quiet. Service is good, too. Get to seat on the traditional mat.
