If you make it to downtown Rockford you have to stop at Herman's Boy for a cup of coffee.

Open 6:30am - 8PM Wonderful coffee roasted on site daily - grab a cup or take some whole beans home. Wide variety both regular and Decaf. They also offer bagels and some of the best baked sweet treats as well as deli sandwiches and lighter lunch fair. Housed in a converted farm house, they are about a 15 minute walk away (it sounds farther than it is).

Coffee? They roast their own beans. Huge breakfast rolls? Handmade on premises (the pecan rolls are served Friday and Saturday... don't miss that). Sandwiches? Yes, served on homemade rolls and often with meat smoked at the shop. Bagel dogs? Yes, and nobody else has bagel dogs. They were featured on Good Morning America because Ginger Zee loves them so much. There's also handmade fudge and chocolates, smoked meats, ribs and chicken wings and other daily treats. There's probably a lot more that I forgot, but we promise this is a really unique and special experience.

Great local coffee shop/bakery just down the street. We don't have a coffee maker, but we highly recommend this fantastic local place!
