Small plates (get it, "sample" room?) and a full bar, nice atmosphere, outdoor seating in summer, and a spot right on the Mississippi (although you don't have river views in the restaurant). But you can walk outside and down the stairs onto the dock that stretches out into the Mississippi (or, maybe that's trespassing!? Oops, I do it all the time.) Nice spot. Moderately priced.

One of our go-to restaurants. Cocktails are always spot-on. Small plates for sharing. Nice outdoor seating in the summer.

A nice restaurant where every dish is just a "sample" I staple of NE mpls. It'll be busy for dinner but dies down later at night. A good place to get a late nite drink if you want some peace and quiet

The Sample Room is a foodie-haven, with lovely old-school class and charm, nestled alongside a quieter part of the Mississippi. I have yet to be disappointed with any of their house-prepared fare. Delicious, thoughtful, and seasonal small plates abound, daily specials, house-made sausage, brunch options on the weekends, and specialty craft beer, wine, and spirit flights all available until the wee hours.
