The MoMA’s sister museum for contemporary art has a must-see installation by James Turrell, an artist who is interested in the mind’s theta state. It’s a room of changing colors meant to trigger brain-wave entrainment into deep relaxation. About 30 people are allowed in at one time, and there are wooden benches all around to relax on. There is an open window in the room, so if the weather is bad don’t come out here to see it. They’ll close the installation.
