It’s also very easy to walk down to the River Thames. There’s a nice cafe/bar at Boulters Lock. If you head north along the river, then it’s a nice walk to Cookham and Bourne End.

See the boats go through the lock, have a drink and / or meal in Boulters Lock restaurant over the water, wander on the island and along the river to Maidenhead bridge. Thames Riviera Hotel on the bridge has a wonderful beer garden over looking the river - bar food and a better restaurant that is very reasonably priced.

Historic lock on the River Thames at Maidenhead. Good restaurant too. Walks along the tow path.
