It’s one of the smartest dining rooms around and unlike many all-day joints, the design comfortably transitions. Remarkably, they manage to put up wonderfully inventive dishes at a competitive price point, which makes you feel all big-city cosmopolitan. There’s a lot of egg on the breakfast menu but thankfully it’s joined by star touches such as wagyu bresaola, aged ricotta or perfectly seasoned minced mushrooms, and your choice of sourdough or seven-grain bread. Oaken is a delicious new eatery in the Britomart precinct with unbeatable views of Auckland’s beautiful waterfront area. Open six days a week from 7am till late, this is an ideal spot for central city dwellers who are after great food and drinks in a laidback atmosphere.
