Casa was founded in the late ‘50s, to help solve the housing shortage for students. Look out over the treetops at GAPP, the roof terrace of Hotel Casa. On this roof terrace you are surrounded by flowers and green plants, a tribute to green Amsterdam. GAPP is only open when the sun shines, but then you can really enjoy yourself. You can easily spend a few hours there, with the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu full of healthy food, like sandwiches with beet hummus and salads. The drinks menu features local beer, wine and cocktails like The Hangover. GAPP's version of a Bloody Mary, the answer for that rough morning after a wild night.

Spectacular city views, lush planters (with edible flowers) and homemade drinks in mason jars: NEST is a beautiful, green café and bar on the Hotel Casa rooftop. Every Thursday (so long as it’s not raining) you can head there for a relaxing morning of yoga with other early birds. Occasionally, you can even pitch a tent there and spend the night stargazing. The rooftop’s availability is weather-dependent, so check out their Facebook page for actual opening hours.
