Situated right on the coast of Cardigan Bay Tywyn has beautiful dog friendly beaches, hills and mountains and sits on the Wales Coastal Path. Experience beautiful sunsets, look out for dolphins, take a trip on the famous talyllyn steam railway, climb mountains or just relax with a book. We have a Victorian Cinema - the magic lantern - and its secret garden and several good restaurants. We have all the shops you need - supermarkets, butcher, baker, post office, pharmacy, newsagents, green grocer, craft shops and a petrol station. We are on the main line rail route from Birmingham which travels all the way to the Lleyn Peninsular as well as Aberystwyth.

Petrified Forest . The storms of 2014 uncovered 4-miles of ancient woodland stretching between Tywyn and Aberdyfi that had previously been submerged beneath the sand and shingle. Only viewable at low tide!

An excellent beach for sunbathing and a great place to swim. We have never known Tywyn beach to be crowded. Why not take a walk from the beach at Aberdyfi passing the sand dunes to Tywyn beach and stop at The Victorian Slipway pub for a pint of the Welsh favourite Butty Bach? If you don't fancy the five mile walk back you could always get the train which stops just a two minute walk from the cottage. We have been very fortunate to see dolphins from Tywyn beach on many occasions over the years. Tywyn is also the location for a convenient supermarket.

Tywyn is just 6 miles from Rhoslefain, reachable by car, bus, train or on foot by taking the Tonfannau route over the Bailey Bridge for a scenic walk or cycle. Tywyn is a small Victorian town known for its beautiful run of beach, its home to the Talyllyn Railway and history. Tywyn has a highstreet with many local shops supplying groceries, news papers, Iron mongers, fresh and local produce, beach supplies, petrol station, off-licence, gifts and souvenirs, cafes, restaurants and pubs including local takeaway food. This is a busy seaside town where people come to enjoy the seaside and as a stop for local walkers, runners, cyclists, fishing, race the train etc. There is a cinema which is also a eatery and has a licenced bar and entertainment. At the beach there is miles of sand for the children to play and run on. There is a Arcade, a leisure park for mini golf, tennis, and other games. a children's play park and cafe.
