Upper Mesa Falls, a thunderous curtain of water – as tall as a 10-story building – pours over remnants of an ancient volcanic super-eruption that spewed ash over much of the current US. Absolutely beautiful! The historic Mesa Falls Visitor Center has exhibits on area geology, flora, and fauna, and the history of the lodge. In the summer, it is open daily from 9:30 – 5:30.

The upper and lower Mesa Falls are beautiful large powerful waterfalls on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. This is a state park. You can park at the parking lot for the upper falls and walk down the safe steps to view the top of the falls as it crashes powerfully to the river below, sending up mist. The lower falls is best viewed from a pullout less than a mile away. It's multilevel and amazing. Bring binoculars for the best view.
