Another attraction less than 10mins drive from the Hay Loft is South Wales Aviation Museum. It has an exhaustive display of aeroplanes of all shapes and sizes, many of which you can get in and have imagery dog fits. Doted around there all interesting interactive science puzzles and the odd dinosaur here and there. There's also a café too.
