East Riding Theatre aims to deliver top class performances and to enhance the appreciation of Performance Arts in the region of the East Riding and beyond. The Theatre opened its doors for the first time on 12th December 2014; followed by a 23 performance, sell-out show of A Christmas Carol, adapted by Vincent Regan and directed by internationally acclaimed director, Mike Friend. ERT is a professional Theatre and what goes on the stage is paid work. As Sue Kirkman (Theatre Manager) states, ‘the importance of producing our own work will earn ERT credibility as an artistic force to be reckoned with; regionally, nationally and internationally. We may be a small venue but our ambition is huge.’

dad's army (2016) Much of the filming took place along the East Yorkshire coastline including Flamborough Head, North Landing, and Bridlington. The East Riding Theatre in Beverley is used for the Church Hall, Parade room, and Captain Mainwaring’s office. Sections of the film are also captured in Leeds and Pickering. 1hr 10min drive approximately
