Commissioned in 1979 the stainless steel Defenders of the Polish Post Monument. A wonderful example of Communist-era public art. Pomnik i muzeum obrońców poczty polskiej z września 1939.

Since 1994, the department has organised ‘poetry evenings”, temporary exhibitions and “concerts”. Currently, there are four rooms accessible to visitors. Since 1 January 2003, the Museum of the Polish Postal Service in Gdańsk has been a department of the Gdańsk Historical Museum.

Museum about the history of Gdansk city during the second world war. Especially regarding events in the main post office. Massive 2nd WW memorial in front of it.
