This little restaurant in the middle of a seemingly abandoned mall has authentic cooking from the province of GuiLin in China. The bone broths are hearty and flavourful without overload of MSG or salt. Great prices too.

I can objectively and honestly say that Calgary does some of the best Dim Sum outside of China / Hong Kong. I've lived many places in North America and Calgary has a unique way of doing some dishes such as Shiu Mai. The dumplings in Calgary are plump and fresh and often topped with extra things like roe and fresh shrimp.
While Dragon is my favourite for meat and seafood, Central Grand has the traditional push carts and has a larger variety and is more speedy. They have amazing egg tarts, especially if you can get them recently out of the oven. They are also easier on the wallet.

Great neighbourhood irish pub. Fantastic daily drink and food deals, amazing weekend brunch (full breakfast for about 8$). Big screens for sports, quieter nooks, and fantastic beer selection (including Gas Lamp selection - local brewery).

You can dance or sit in the quiet lounge areas. There is no cover. The place is a popular spot for business execs. It is a steakhouse during the day.

This is a niche bar that looks like a group of friends pulled together what furniture they had, some 90's arcade games and cult 80's and 90's VHS's and started inviting people over. It is a "scene" worth experiencing for young people. There are DJ's and dancing.

Overlooks Elbow river. Connects to Elbow River pathway, which also connects to North Glenmore park. Great paths. Some are exposed, so I wouldn't go in the middle of the afternoon. It is also an off-leash dog park.
Connects to Sandy Beach as well.

You can catch the CP rail train crossing the river and disappear into the trees below. It is hilly, with easy to challenging bike and walking paths.

85 Street NorthwestMy favourite park in the fall. There are amazing views, crystal blue water, richly colourful foliage, and a variety of plants. sharp cliffs overlook bow river and bowness park. You can catch the CP rail train crossing the river and disappear into the trees below. It is hilly, with easy to challenging bike and walking paths.

It is adjacent to Eau Claire, which often has food trucks on the weekends for festivals. Prince Island has a variety of paths along the river and its offshoots. There are some great areas to sit on rocks by the river. There are some nice bridges too, such as the Peace Bridge.
