There are multiple greenbelts in Austin, but the Barton Creek Greenbelt is so beloved that locals commonly refer to it as “the Greenbelt,” as if it were the only one. Located in south-central Austin, the Barton Creek Greenbelt contains 12.68 miles of gorgeous trails, with the main trail spanning about 7 miles. This particular greenbelt is considered one of the top hiking trails in Texas.
But this area is not only for hiking. One of the city’s most prized attractions, the Barton Creek Greenbelt is filled with mountain biking trails and beautiful limestone bluffs for rock climbing. And when there’s enough water in the creek, there are several swimming holes locals like to enjoy.

Check out their website for the history of Threadgill's but in South Austin we have Threadgill’s World Headquarters - opened right beside the residence of the Armadillo Headquarters. The original location on North Lamar has the theme of Austin between the 1930’s and the 1960’s. The south location celebrates the history of the Armadillo and its salad days of the 1970’s.

You really need to catch a show at The Continental Club. The granddaddy of all local music venues, Rockin South Austin Since 1955, the legendary Continental Club celebrates over 60 years as one the oldest continuously running clubs in all of Austin. It started out as a swanky supper club, then became Austin's first burlesque club and later became a working man's blue collar bar on South Congress that opened every morning at 7am and eventually grew into one of the premier live music venues.

The granddaddy of all local music venues, Rockin South Austin Since 1955, the legendary Continental Club celebrates over 60 years as one the oldest continuously running clubs in all of Austin. It started out as a swanky supper club, then became Austin's first burlesque club and later became a working man's blue collar bar on South Congress that opened every morning at 7am and eventually grew into one of the premier live music venues.
