My personal best food and alcochol friendly Spots in Athens

In this guide i am going to share with you my best food and alcochol friendly venues after a long taste research that i have made the last 6 years. As a foodie myself i am always on the look for mouthwatering and high quality food, also i am looking for food spots that have a unique story behind so all the places that you will find in this guide meet all the above criteria.
The first Foodie Hotel in Europe opened its doors in the center of Athens. . This unique project includes a spectacular marketplace, a modern-day Agora with a constellation of greengrocers, a butcher’s, fishmonger’s and bakery, a delicatessen and roastery, along with a bar and restaurant which celebrate the best of Greek cuisine culture. Start your day with a mouthwatering breakfast in the main floor while you enjoy a spectacular view of the graffitis and the vertical botanic and vegetable garden. My personal bests is the spinach pie (love the crust and the filling), double-fried potatoes with Staka (a Cretan hybrid of yogurt and cheese) and for the sweet lovers I highly recommend the sweet pie with cream!! In addition your can enjoy your cocktail in the amazing roof terrace planted with olive trees that has unbeatable views of the city (roof terrace opens after 17.00).

Don’t leave Athens without trying “Souvlaki” in Hoocut! Owned by 5 famous chefs this place became talk of the town and for a reason. You can choose among 4 different meat variations (pork, chicken, beef and lamb) to fill your souvlaki (pita bread is homemade and that’s a big +) My personal best is the lamb variation with french fries, tomato and their signature sauce. In addition you can accompany your meal with various salads (all vegetables originate from small farms around Greece to ensure high quality!)
A mathematician that quit her job and pursued her child dream of making gelato. Le Greche is an ode to the art of pastry (thousands of Athenians and people from all around the world will agree with me). The best ingredients from Greece and Italy mix together in order to create the best gelato. Attention to detail can be seen everywhere (the gelato cones orignate from Napole Italy made by a family with a tradition of 100 years in cone making). My personal best gelato flavour is Baklava-Cream accompanied with a a cup of Italian espresso.

The best ingredients from Greece and Italy mix together in order to create the best gelato. Attention to detail can be seen everywhere (the gelato cones orignate from Napole Italy made by a family with a tradition of 100 years in cone making). My personal best gelato flavour is Baklava-Cream accompanied with a a cup of Italian espresso.
For our vegetarian and vegan travelers this a place to go! Enjoy your coffee, a refreshing smoothie or try one of their mouthwatering dishes. All the ingredients are super fresh! For our vegetarian and vegan travelers this a place to go! Enjoy your coffee, a refreshing smoothie or try one of their mouthwatering dishes. All the ingredients are super fresh! One of my best Taverns in Athens. You will find a big variety of cold cuts, cheese and greek spirits (ouzo, raki, etc). Everything here comes from small producers around Greece. Fanis (the owner) has always a big smile on his face and ensures that every customer will get the most out of this food experience. When the sun is shining take a seat at the back yard, order 3-4 different dishes (called Mezès and come in small plates) accompanied with a glass of Ouzo ( ice is a must) and feel the local vibes while you are in Athens! Create your own fresh, unique Profiterole, with delightful cream or hand-made ice-cream. Choose from a variety of chocolates and other toppings like fresh fruits and enjoy the best profiterole of your life! My personal best is an ice-cream filled profiterole topped with bitter chocolate and blueberries.

Thanks to a friend of mine I learned about this food venue a couple of years ago. The main star here is Turkish pide (baked in wood oven)which comes in many different combinations. My favorite one is with minced meat and cheese (they will ask you if you want melted butter on top of it please say YES!!).
