Stop and pick up maps of shorter, easier hikes in the area....such as Steven's Glen on Lenox Branch Rd, Notchview Reservation in Windsor (which has the BEST cross country skiing in the area)

Visit historic homes, "Berkshire Cottages," and inspiring landscapes. If you appreciate history and seeing the homes of the rich and famous and early settlers, then you have The Mount, Ventfort Hall, Naumkeag, The Mission House, Chesterwood, The Colonel John Ashley House, The William Cullen Bryant Homestead, The Folly and The Guest House at Field Farm. Hiking and nature sites in the county include Bartholomew's Cobble, Monument Mountain, Tyringham Cobble, Notchview, to name just a few. I have available literature on most.
