The building that houses this museum is an architectural monument of national importance. The exterior appearance of the building is a special one: the artistic stained glass windows, the carved wood and the colorful decorations stand out. The permanent exhibition of the museum is called "Nature…
Unmissable skeleton of a 6-million-year-old Deinotherium Gigantissimum (a sort of mammut) found in the area - plus many other remarkable exhibits. The museum is right in the center of the Moldovan capital.
Besides the fact it a good museum to see main natural history's features of Moldova, it has a secret garden with a good collection of birds and forest-like park. Entrance is from Maria Ciubotaru Street.
It is the oldest museum in the Republic of Moldova, functioning at the moment.
You'll have a chance to see a traditional Moldavian wedding there - human-height dolls dressed up and smiling... Scary... Also there is a calf with two-heads on exhibit. The strongest impression of my childhood.

“It's a very pleasant walk around the lake. A lot of shade and greenery. The renovated stairs with little waterfalls is really cute. Also there's a hidden spot in that park where you can take an icy-cold shower under spring water (if you are brave enough). I can bring you to that spot.”
