The menu here is like it's environment, equally loose and relaxed. And most importantly, it's right in the building!

The contemporary menu ranges from great snacks (a yabby jaffle, no less) through to finer plates such as lamb shoulder rich with the scent of spice, balanced with labne.

Without question, there is no better dining set up in Canberra. Like the super-cool living space of an arts collective, Monster, which doubles as a hotel lobby, is divided into lounge seating, a collection of tables in an inconvenient parallelogram shape and another room full of vintage furniture and tables. Meals are made from local and seasonal produce prepared for sharing and did I mention they are delicious and Monster is on the Hotel level of the precinct you are staying in.
