Family favourite - set aside a few hours to wander through the grounds. Tours and Animal encounter experiences are available to book. The Rhino Cafe is close to the playground, so the littles can enjoy what is arguably Canberra's best playground while the bigs can get a bite to eat and a coffee.

Spend the day, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink into the zoo (with the exception of alcohol). The zoo has several areas within the grounds that can cater for anything from a simple picnic or BBQ to a large family or corporate event whilst being surrounded by some of the zoo’s most amazing animals. The grassed areas, picnic tables, covered gazebos and cabanas are all shared facilities and are free to use on a first come basis.

Great place to visit specially if you have kids with you. But the zoo caters of young and old alike and has many exotic animals. It also has little picnic areas. So pack a hamper and spend a day at the zoo.
