Girona Cathedral! Also known as the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Girona. The Cathedral is located at the heart of the Força Vella. Built between the 11th and 18th centuries, it includes a series of walls and spaces in different styles, from Romanesque (the cloister and Charlemagne tower) to the baroque façade and steps. Its most singular feature is its large Gothic nave (15th-16th centuries) which, at a width of 23 metres, is the widest of its kind in the world.

The Tapestry of Creation or Girona Tapestry is a Romanesque panel of needlework from the 11th century, housed in the Museum of the Cathedral of Girona. Recently restored, this stunning creation is a delightful surprise for visitors to the cathedral. Describing its magnificence in The Telegraph article: ‘The goodness of creation all sewn up’, Christopher Howse starts off by saying he “saw one of the wonders of the world a few days ago …” Google to learn more about this fascinating gem, and better still – go and have a look!

The colorful houses by the river, the shocking cathedral and an incredible old town full of live, restaurants, shops... but among anything else: history! arabs and jewish left their amazing footprint in the city.
