Visit this on foot from either Craster or Embleton. An amazing ruined castle. Or park at Embleton and walk north along the beach to Low Newton for a drink and some food at The Ship, return via the dunes for fantastic views over Embleton bay and the castle in the distance .
Recently voted as one of the top ten walks in the UK. Leave from our front door, through Craster village & walk along the Northumbrian coastline to the 14th century castle ruins.
Iconic dramatic ruins on the edge of the coastline. Fabulous views from the higher parts of it.
Embleton Beach is my favourite and you can walk along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle and on to Craster for lunch in the Jolly Fisherman.
