Just past Qbajjar Bay west of Marsalforn, the coast is characterised by a chequerboard of rock-cut saltpans protruding into the sea. These 350-year-old salt pans stretch about 3km along the coast.

Nice walk along side north coast were salt pans are located. You can start you walk/bike ride at Marsalforn and finish it at Gharb. There are also two nice places for swim Xwejni Bay or Wield Il-Ghasri.
