The Abbey Ruins are set high on a cliff top, for nearly 1500 years the Abbey has been attracting visitors, its known that Bram Stoker got his inspiration to write the novel 'Dracula' from the Abbey and Whitby. One way to reach the Abbey is from the old town up the famous 199 steps.

Another great historical visit. Best to park in the dedicated English Heritage carpark or walk up the famous 199 steps from Whitby old town.
