The largest castle in Silesia first built in the 14th century with additions and remodelling continued up until the 20th century. During WWII, under Hitler’s direct orders, the German authorities confiscated the castle and began construction of a mysterious underground complex beneath the building and surrounding areas. An Underground Tourist Route allows visitors to explore a 1.5km section of the works. In addition a visit can be made to Riese (German giant) - the largest mining and construction project of the Nazis, started and never finished in the Owl Mountains (Góry Sowie, Poland).

Absolutely gorgeous Baroque/ rococco style Castle in Lower Silesia about an hour from Wroclaw. Perfect get away from the city for a day.

Zamek Książ oddalony jest od Bystrzycy Górnej 16 km, samochodem można dojechać w25 minut. Zespół rezydencjalny znajdujący się w Wałbrzychu przy ulicy Piastów Śląskich 1 w dzielnicy Książ, na terenie Książańskiego Parku Krajobrazowego na Pogórzu Wałbrzyskim. Znajduje się na Szlaku Zamków Piastowskich.
