Go see UVA- particularly the Rotunda and the Lawn. The Rotunda is beautiful and awe-inspiring, and it stands at the head of a gorgeous stretch of old trees and lawn perfect for kids to run around and play frisbee while you attempt to interest them in the myriad architectural styles Thomas Jefferson…
The Rotunda is a building located on The Lawn on the original grounds of the University of Virginia. It was designed by Thomas Jefferson to represent the "authority of nature and power of reason" and was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome.
As a World Heritage Site, we are blessed to have it just steps from our home. It marks the beginning of The Lawn at UVA and from where Thomas Jefferson entertained the likes of LaFayette and James Madison.
Located about 1.5 miles right up Rugby Road from our home, the Rotunda at the University of Virginia is the beginning of Thomas Jefferson's Academic Village and includes The Lawn, and Edgar Allen Poe's old room (before he got kicked out!).
