Great spot for beginner skiers/snowboarders and tubing in the winter. And mountain adventures in the summer!
This snow sports area is closest to the chalet -- and the lowest elevation.. so the snow levels need to be solid to go. They host night skiing and "cosmic tubing" after dark. In the summer there are also a lot of fun & family friendly activities.
A favorite for skiing, this location has been operating since 1928 and had the lift terminal completely rebuilt in 2005, resulting in faster trips. Skibowl provides snow riders with some of the best terrain in the Mt. Hood National Forest, featuring 34 fully lit runs, 65 runs total and a vertical…
Smallest/affordable ski resort with best alpine and steepest drops on the mountain. Cosmic tubing for the kiddos in the winter and an adventure park with bungee jumping, race cars, zip lines, and Alpine Slides in the Summer.

“Local craft beer and tavern style food. A bit of a drive from the chalet but on the way to/from Mt Hood. They have a patio, when weather allows. *Please check for CV19 restrictions on dining before going!*”

“Excellent trail system about 8 miles from cabin down Barlow Trail Road. To access the main trailhead, you have to pedal about 3 miles up a paved logging road climbing approximately 2,000'. If you are a beginner or novice, there is a loop around the parking lot and an entry point to Lower Hide and Seek about 1.5 miles up the logging road. Laura's Loop about .5 mile up is nice for beginners, and at .75 TNT/Little Monkey has slopestyle jumps for those wanting to air it out. For more advanced riders there are few options at the top, including my favorite: Communication Breakdown (flow)-Quid Pro Flow (flow)-338(XC)-Two Turntables (fast and tight), Lower Hide and Seek (flow).”
