San Diego does not have the best public transportation system, but there is a bus stop that goes to the coaster, which hugs the coast to downtown or up to LA and further. Rental cars available at Airport and on MiraMar Road, not far, but not walking distance. Uber and Lyft are used often here. Biking downtown is very popular.
