17 Avenue is a fairly long street with many clothing shops, cafe's, different type of cuisines, local favorite street food, dessert spots, pubs, bar, & more. This street is a hot spot in Calgary & is perfect for a solo walk, family outing, or a night out with friends! A must visits if you are not from the city!
A long strip of restaurants and pubs with patio's facing the street. A fun place to walk along in the evening. Perhaps stop at a patio for a cold one?!
This is Calgary's night spot. Ample bars and restaurants surround the area from 4th street down to 12th street.
The lively and vibrant 17th Ave (also know as The Red Mile during the Stanley Cup Playoffs) is home to many of Calgary’s best restaurants, ice cream shops, cafes, bakeries, bars, pubs, and shopping!
With Calgary’s young demographic, just about anything you would find in the larger cities you’ll find on Calgary’s famed 17th Ave, plus a few quirky shops you won’t find elsewhere. From mainstream favorites like Gravity Pope, West Elm and Frank & Oak, to cool record shops, chic knitting boutiques and glitzy jewelry shops fit for any Manhattanite. If it’s retail therapy you’re after, punctuated with cocktails at the hottest wine bar in town, this are over 400 shops, restaurants and services at your beck and call.

This is a HOT spot in Calgary. All of my favorite local bars, restaurants and shops can be found here! Connected to the stampede grounds and runs to 14th St. SW you will have a day full of fun with friends and family. This is often referred to as the RED MILE when the Calgary Flames are playing!
From 14 St head East down 17 Ave. This is Calgary's "Entertainment and Retail District". There are numerous restaurants, bars, and independently run shops. The restaurants end around 1 St SW but if you keep going on 17 Ave you will hit the Elbow River Casino, the Saddledome and The Stampede Grounds. Alternatively, turn north on 1 St for yet more restaurants, pubs, and shops.

17th Ave between 2nd and 14th Street SW is a fun restaurant, bar & shopping area.
Locals call it the Red Mile. Named after our NHL Calgary Flames Stanley Cup Playoff run. This stretch has many bars, restaurants and shops that lead directly to the Stampede and Saddledome.
Nightlife, Food and Shopping! Take a stroll down the 17th Ave day or night to indulge in the most trendy area of DT Calgary for the best bars, restaurants and boutique shopping stores.
You will find great restaurants and pubs on 17between 4th and 7th street. Cleaver is a tapas bar, with Irish influence and a great buzz. The beef cheek ravioli is one of the best things I have ever eaten. The Living Room is another great choice for dinner. They are also famous for inventing the "Shaft", a shot made from espresso, Kahlua and milk. If you don't go for dinner, take a quit detour right up to the bar and have a Shaft - you won't regret it! If you want a great pub, both The Ship and Anchor and Rose and Crown are on the same block as these two restaurants. They are always fun. Further down (west) past 6th Avenue, you'll find great, unique shops to explore.
