Located in a beautiful historic building that was once a bank, The Ordinary is a bustling Lowcountry oyster bar and brasserie from Mike Lata and Adam Nemirow (otherwise known as the team behind the revered Charleston restaurant, FIG). Several bars, gigantic windows, and towers of fresh shellfish define the handsome space, which loyalists and in-the-know travelers are drawn to its creative, Southern-flecked seafood dishes like smoked oysters served alongside saltines and hot sauce; jumbo lump blue crab toast with lime and radish; and grilled New Orleans style bbq white shrimp.

Super fancy seafood. We love every single dish! Needs reservations unless you want to sit at the bar. So good!

“Shrimp po boys! Need I say more? Also secret tip- On the weekends when I bike or walk by here on my way home I stop by Leon’s side service window. Their side window serves only soft serve with sprinkles in a cup or cone. Charleston is hot 10-11 months out of the year, so this is a nice cool perk on the way home. ”
